Diesel engines gain energy by burning hot compressed air that is injected into or into the cylinder. The air must be heated to a temperature higher than the temperature at which the injected fuel can iignite. The temperature of the fuel injected into the air is higher than the "auto-ignition" temperature of the fuel, and the fuel reacts spontaneously with the oxygen in the air and burns. The air temperature usually exceeds 526 degrees Celsius (979 degrees Fahrenheit); however, supplemental heating of the cylinder is sometimes used during engine start-up because the air temperature in the cylinder is determined by two engine temperatures: the compression ratio and its current operating temperature. Diesel engines are sometimes referred to as compression ignition engines because the initiation of combustion depends on the compression of heated air rather than electric spark.
In a diesel engine, fuel is introduced as the piston approaches the upper stop of its stroke. The fuel is introduced at high pressure into the pre-ignition chamber or directly into the piston-cylinder combustion chamber. Diesel engines use direct injection, except for small high-speed systems.
Diesel fuel injection systems are typically designed to provide injection pressures in the range of 7 to 70 MPa (1,000 to 10,000 pounds per square inch). However, some high-pressure systems are also available.

The hydraulic coupling reverse reducing gear box has the following advantages:
1. Easy to install.
2. Compared with the traditional single pump unit configuration, the belt drive is eliminated, avoiding the drawback of adjusting the belt string tightness due to belt stretching.
3. With clutch function. When the diesel engine does not stop and runs at any speed, it can be clutched smoothly without any shock and wear by oiling and draining of the coupling, which can replace the airbag clutch and simplify the transmission parts.
4. Prevent power overload. When the output shaft torque increases suddenly, the slip of the coupling will increase by itself, thus protecting the diesel engine, mud pump and coupling backshell from damage.
5. Reliable operation and long service life.
6. The bearing gears adopt forced splash lubrication. An oil channel is designed on the box to lubricate and cool the end faces of the gears and bearings to ensure their normal operation.
