Spark plugs are designed with maintenance in mind. The pure iridium-platinum base metal center electrode provides maximum wear resistance, thus reducing distortion and retaining gaskets for easy installation and removal.

Spark plug inspection:
1. Disassembly: remove the high-voltage branch line on the spark plug in turn, and mark the original position to avoid installation misplacement. In the disassembly, pay attention to clear the dust and debris at the spark plug hole beforehand to prevent debris from falling into the cylinder. When disassembling, use the spark plug sleeve to secure the spark plug, turn the sleeve to remove it and line it up in order.
2. Check: the normal color of the electrode of the spark plug is off-white, if the electrode is burnt black with carbon deposits, it means that there is a malfunction. When checking the spark plug and the cylinder block conduction, with the central high-voltage wire touch the spark plug terminal, and then open the ignition switch, observe the high-voltage electric jump position. If the electric jump position in the spark plug gap, it shows that the spark plug plays a good role, otherwise it is necessary to replace the new.
3. Spark plug electrode gap adjustment: various models of spark plug gap are different, generally should be between 0.7-0.9, check the gap size, available spark plug gauge or thin metal plate. If the gap is too large, the driver handle can be used to gently tap the outer electrode, so that the gap is normal; gap is too small, you can use the driver or metal piece inserted into the electrode outward wrenching.
Spark plug cleaning: spark plug oil or carbon should be cleaned in time, but do not use the flame grill. If the core is damaged or ruptured, it should be replaced.

Spark Plug Maintenance:
When maintaining the car, you should pay more attention to the condition of the spark plugs, and the good performance of the spark plugs can improve the power performance of the vehicle.
Usually, the service life of spark plugs is 15,000 kilometers, and the service life of long-lasting spark plugs is not more than 30,000 kilometers. However, many owners of spark plugs often have such and such problems, not up to its normal service life. In fact, the working temperature of spark plugs is quite high. Engine normal operation, the spark plug insulator skirt temperature is generally maintained between 500 and 600 degrees Celsius. Temperatures that are too high or too low have a bad effect on spark plugs. In the case of spark plug temperature is too low, the insulator on the spark plug is easy to build up carbon, and eventually cause leakage to produce the phenomenon of lack of fire. If the spark plug working temperature is too high, it is easy to cause premature combustion and engine detonation. Spark plug erosion: when the owner found that the top of the spark plug has a scar or destruction, electrode melting, ablation phenomenon, are indicative of the spark plug has been destroyed, at this time should replace the spark plug. In the replacement process, the owner can check the symptoms of spark plug erosion and color changes.
Symptom 1: Electrode melting and insulator is white Diagnosis: This phenomenon indicates that the temperature in the combustion chamber is too high. This can be caused by excessive carbon buildup in the combustion chamber, which results in a small valve gap and further overheating of the exhaust valves or a poorly functioning cooling device. When the spark plug is not tightened according to the specified torque, it can also cause the electrode to melt and the insulator to appear white.
Symptom 2: Rounded electrodes and scarred insulators Diagnosis: This is an indication of premature engine ignition, which may be caused by premature ignition time or low octane gasoline and high spark plug heat value.
Symptom 3: Shattered insulator tip Diagnosis: Generally speaking, detonation combustion is the main cause of insulator rupture. And too early ignition time, low octane of gasoline, and too high temperature inside the combustion chamber may cause the engine to burst combustion.
Symptom 4:Gray-black streaks at the top of the insulator Diagnosis: The appearance of such streaks indicates that the spark plug has been leaking, and the owner needs to unconditionally replace it with a new one.
Deposits on Spark PlugsDeposits sometimes stick between the tip of the spark plug insulator and the electrode. Car owners should not underestimate such deposits. In severe cases this condition may cause the engine not to work properly. After cleaning the spark plug, the vehicle can temporarily get normal operation, but soon after a similar situation will occur again. In fact, the spark plug deposit is only a superficial phenomenon, it may be a signal that other mechanical parts of the vehicle have problems.
Symptom 1: Oily deposits on the spark plug Diagnosis: When oily deposits appear on the spark plug, it indicates that the lubricant has entered the combustion chamber. If there are only oily deposits on individual spark plugs, it may be caused by a damaged valve stem oil seal. However, if such deposits are stuck to the spark plugs of individual cylinders, it is an indication of oil leaking from the cylinders. Generally speaking, in the case of clogged air filters and ventilators, cylinders are highly susceptible to oil leaps.
Symptom 2: black deposits on the spark plug diagnosis: spark plug electrodes and black deposits inside, usually indicates that the gas mixture in the cylinder is too thick. Owners can increase the engine running speed, and continue for a few minutes, to burn off a layer of black soot layer left on top of the electrode.
